The First Nations of Turtle Island is a vast constellation of peoples – many bands and tribes, each with its own languages, ceremonies, cosmologies, and laws of relationship.
There is no single worldview or ethos that encompasses the richness and diversity of these tribes.
What we wish to offer here is a platform that honors the voices of those who carry teachings originating and inspired by the First Nations.
We hope to highlight some critical threads of resonance.
We ask: what values, principles, and lifeways might help us walk in right relationship and reciprocity, find balance and interconnection with our environment, exercise deep humility, and develop resilience and continuity in the face of colonization and climate collapse.
Investment
We are committed to creating experiences that are inclusive and accessible regardless of economic privilege. We recognize that we situate our work inside late-stage capitalism and that this system is highly flawed and disproportionately rewards people with existing privilege, power, and resources. Our sliding fee scale is an attempt to offer transparency around pricing and create access regardless of where you sit.
The higher tiers do not grant you access to any additional benefits
beyond the event itself.
Tier 1: $20
The lowest cost represents an honest acknowledgement that there are folks whose economic circumstances would prevent them from participating.
Unless, of course, there was a deliberate opportunity for them to access services at a cost that reflects this reality. If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as housing, food, childcare, and/or are living paycheck to paycheck without much external assistance to access healing, this price is for you.
Tier 2: $50
The middle cost reflects our acknowledgement that paying the full cost would stretch your finances a bit or make you question whether this is the right investment for you right now.
If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs (such as food, shelter, childcare, medical care, etc) then this price is for you.
Tier 3: $100
The highest dollar cost reflects the true value of these offerings.
If you have access to financial security, own property, have investments or personal savings, you would not traditionally qualify for sliding scale services.
If you are able to pay for “wants” and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, you have economic privilege and power in our community. This price is for you.
